NHS

The NHS publishes guidelines through NICE, which is the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence

For people with persistent or recurrent non-specific low back pain and sciatica regardless of the duration of the pain, NICE recommends a course of manual therapy, including spinal manipulation “performed by chiropractors and osteopaths, as well as by doctors and physiotherapists who have undergone specialist postgraduate training in manipulation” in conjunction with exercise.

NICE recommends people with low back pain to exercise, following a “structured exercise programme, tailored to the person”.

This is exactly what our plans – like the 10 Step Pain Relief Plan – are designed to do; to reduce your pain, by combining manual spinal manipulation with a structured exercise programme. We are in line with the NHS NICE guidelines.
